I am the co-author of Facebook Marketing All-in-One for Dummies, international speaker, standup comedian, actress, and competitive athlete.

And ALL of these things happened after I turned 40.

I am PASSIONATE about helping people understand that it’s ok to have a “late start” in life.

It’s Never

Too Late

I hear people say things like “Oh it’s too late to make a change” or “I wanted to do that when I was younger, but it’s too late now.”

WHY???

Why are 20 and 30 year-olds the only people who are allowed to start something new?

For people who are in their 40’s, 50’s, and beyond, you are uniquely qualified to launch that business, that creative ideas, or that new life. You’ve “been around the block” as they say and your experience builds to give you more discerning intuition on what you need to do.

Sure, maybe we need an extra nap along the way, but it’s TOTALLY DOABLE (as my friend and past business partner, Phyllis Khare, would say).

It’s never too late to follow your dreams!

About Me

Back in 2002 I was laid off from my job.

I was an engineer in a job that I loved and I will never forget that meeting where they told us that our whole department was being eliminated. It was a total surprise and I felt like I had been punched in the gut.

I loved staying at home with my son, but I knew I wanted more.

I tried a lot of different things (including an in-home wine tasting job – that was a nice side gig with a toddler at home LOL).

I started learning social media and Facebook marketing as a way to advertise my business and my business grew. Friends started to notice and said, can you teach me how to do that?

I found out that I loved helping businesses learn social media and Facebook marketing. More about that business here:  www.andreavahl.com

We can choose how we want our life to look like.

I noticed that a lot of the blogs and tutorials were a little boring out there so I used one of my Improv comedy characters, Grandma Mary Social Media Edutainer to do the blogging. (Yes, I also did improv on the side for 8 years – with toddlers at home you’ll do anything to get out of the house).

And then what started out as a “side gig” has now turned into a book deal, co-authoring Facebook Marketing All-in-One for Dummies, and full time career.

I didn’t have a background in Marketing. I didn’t have any special powers. My blog was super basic when I started. But I kept at it.

And that’s what I love about the world we are in right now. 

We can choose how we want our life to look like. We can start a business from nothing and in a few short years be traveling all over the world speaking and helping amazing clients grow their business.

It’s all

Possible

More recently I started a few new ventures. I have always loved making people laugh and back when I was “young” I wanted to be an actress.

I took a standup comedy class and now I produce my own shows called Moms Unhinged (all mom comedians) – more details on that here.

I took an acting class and have been in a few short films.

I started working out with Camp Gladiator and started competing at their CG Games and came in 13th in my age group nationally. See it pays to be in the over 50 group!

I’m not saying all of this to brag but to say that it’s ALL possible. Unless you want to be in the Olympics, that ship has sailed baby. Or has it?

Wherever you are at right now, don’t give up.

YOUR dream is possible.
