Are you looking to fill an event but aren’t sure how to do it? In today’s episode of Top Takeaways, I’m going to dive into promoting your event based on the interview I had with Jessica Kupferman.
I know I’ve run a lot of events myself. Anything from weekend retreats to my comedy shows. And I know it takes a lot of promotion for these events, even more than you would think. You don’t even realize how much you have to promote to get through all the noise and sell those tickets. The best way to approach promotion is with the mindset that you will need to over-promote.
Knowing that most people will wait until the last minute to buy tickets there are a few things you can do to help encourage attendees to buy tickets.
Plan your promotions by listing out the following places you can talk about your event:
- Your own audience and email list
- Groups (online and in-person)
- Social Sites you are active in
- Friends and Family
Have others help you promote your event. You can offer them a discount code for their audience or invite them to become an affiliate of the event (where they make some money for selling tickets to your event). Look to leverage the following people already invested in the success of your event.
- Promotional Partners
Keep in mind that you will also want to go beyond organic methods and leverage some paid promotion as well to reach even broader audiences.
