Launching a Nonprofit an Interview with Laura Stack

In this episode, I talk to Laura Stack, who hadn’t planned on launching a nonprofit. She had a successful 30-year career as The Productivity-Pro speaking all over the world, but when her son died of suicide due to high-THC marijuana, she pivoted everything and started a nonprofit called Johnny’s Ambassadors to educate parents, teachers, and the community about the dangers of high-THC marijuana. And she had to pull together all of her skills from her previous business to launch something completely new!

Laura Stack, MBA, CSP, CPAE is an award-winning keynote speaker and trainer, bestselling author, and noted authority on personal productivity and team performance.  She is now the founder of the non-profit, Johnny’s Ambassadors, designed to educate parents, teens, and communities about the dangers of today’s high-THC marijuana on adolescent brain development, psychosis, and suicide.

Here is a glimpse into the episode:

[2:08} What is Johnny’s Ambassadors and what is their mission?

[5:17] How is running a non-profit different from running a for-profit business?

[9:12] Learn why high-TCH marijuana is so dangerous and different from what you might know marijuana to be.

[15:08] What signs can parents watch out for in their teens who might be using high-TCH marijuana?

[21:40] What steps did Laura take to start her nonprofit?

[22:08] Learn why Laura believes she didn’t run into many obstacles on her journey to launching a nonprofit and how she believes you can overcome them too.

[26:11] What quote does Laura use to remind herself why she is running her non-profit every day?
