As an entrepreneur, your mental health is critical. It’s even more critical when you are a million dollars in debt. As Susan Frew found out from our interview in episode 64, tune in to today’s top takeaways as I dive a little bit deeper into preserving your mental health.

And now back to our regularly scheduled program.
One of the things I loved about Susan’s episode was she talked about finding out what you need in order to preserve your mental health, having a plan, and she was under an incredible amount of stress trying to bring her business back from a million dollars in debt.
She ended up taking on another job. Moving everything into her basement while they spent two years paying back that debt rather than declaring bankruptcy.
So here’s what Susan had to say. She said definitely exercise. And she talked about burning off the crazy. I think I even have a t-shirt that says that myself burn off the crazy because I definitely feel like that helps.
Now that may or may not be, the perfect tip for you, but I think finding a way to get outside, work off some energy in some way, whatever type of exercise you like best. Could be dancing, could be walking, could be something like that to get out and get that body moving.
She also mentioned eating, right, and I love that because it is so important to fuel. Our body is with good food that gives us energy, especially when, you’ve got all that stress, you don’t want to have that crash in the afternoon. You’ve gotta have enough energy to pull through these busy days.
And then she also talked about preserving your mental health by keeping the right people around you. And that’s so critical too. People like energy vampires or people who are overly negative aren’t gonna help your situation when you’re trying to go from bottom to being profitable.
And then one of the other things that Susan talked about was having a system for watching the business. I think this is really critical too, because she said when she steps away, the customer service goes down.
And she also wasn’t having a system for keeping tabs on all of the finances so that she didn’t realize when mistakes were being made to get her a million dollars in debt. So having that system for watching your business, making sure that you are delivering that, great customer service every time. If you listen to the episode, which I highly recommend, that was something that she really dove into, was that going that extra mile, standing out from these other businesses in the area to, really get noticed and get talked about and get referrals.
So if you haven’t had a chance to go listen to Susan’s episode, I would highly recommend that episode 64.
