82: How to Find Your Strengths – Quick Fix Friday

When it comes to running a business with a partner (married or otherwise) you may need to take some time to find your strengths in order to work smoothly together (and figure out what you might need to outsource).

While there are different tests you can take online to help you find your strengths (some listed below), they can be costly to take so here is another idea that you can use to get started right away!

How to Find Your Strengths

1. 1. Make some lists – group this into business areas, soft skills, technical skills, big picture skills, and day-to-day skills:
      • What do you like to do?
      • What are you good at going?
      • What do you hate to do?
      • What tasks need to be done in your business?
      • What weekly tasks need to be done in your business?
   2. Match the lists of things you like to do with the things that need to be done. Assign a point person to each task that needs to be done and then expand that into a list of duties for each person so everyone knows what to expect.
   3. For the tasks that do not get anyone assigned to it (because no one likes it or feels its a strength) then consider outsourcing those tasks.
