Ep30 Transcript – How to Track Nutrition – Quick Fix Friday
Andrea Vahl: Hey, late starters, it’s your host, Andrea Vahl, and in today’s episode of Quick Fix Friday, I’m going to dive into making major nutrition changes. How do we make changes? We definitely need to start doing some tracking and following a system.
Intro: Hello Dreamers. Welcome to the Late Starters Club, giving you the inspiration, mindset and tools you need to start something midlife and beyond. Remember, it’s never too late to follow your dreams.
Sponsor Messages: And now a word from our sponsor, me.
Would you like to get more inbound leads and sales from Facebook, Instagram, and Google? For most people, the answer is yes, but learning these ad platforms is time-consuming and complicated, and oftentimes business owners set up their campaigns wrong and waste a ton of money.
Let us do the work for you. I’m Andrea Vahl. I’ve been running ad campaigns for clients for 11 years, and I have generated over $4 million in trackable sales from Facebook, Instagram, and Google for my clients in the last two years.
Some of the things I’ve done for my clients include things like:
- 3,000 targeted new email subscribers to a list
- sold 54 tickets to a brand new two-day event directly from Facebook
- 8x return on ads to a brand-new digital course
- 3,845 webinar attendees with over 300 member sales
So if you’re looking for results like these and don’t want to run your ad campaigns yourself, go to my website andreavahl.com and select the Facebook ad services to learn more. I’d love to have a conversation with you about how I can help you get more inbound leads in sales.
Andrea Vahl: If you listened into episode 28 with Tom Petty, you heard the amazing story of how he and his wife reversed some of the diseases that they were experiencing with autoimmune disease for his wife and psoriasis, for Tom. And the way they did that is by following a system. So I would highly suggest either getting a coach, reading a book, finding a system to follow and test whether that system’s going to work for you.
There’s lots of different advice out there, right? And some of it is even conflicting, so it’s really challenging. But your first step is to just pick a system that you think will work for you based on the way you are wired and how it’s worked for others.
I also have a nutrition coach at builtbyfive.com with some of my trainers. And one of the things that they have recommended is using an app to track your macronutrients. I use an app called My Fitness Pal and it’s easy to just plug in the food you’re eating and it tracks what percentage of that is carbohydrates, what percentage is protein, what percentage is fat, so you can hit the target that you want to hit.
Sometimes calorie counting doesn’t work for some people, but this particular method has been working really well for me. And the other thing I like about it is you can scan in barcodes so that if you are eating something that is packaged, it makes it really easy to track. It also has lots of different example foods in there that you can already pull the information from so you don’t have to know all that information yourself.
And it also does track your exercise and your water intake, so you make sure that you’re accounting for some of those things that you want to be healthy with as well.
If you’re the type of person that needs a little bit more one-on-one coaching, then definitely go out and find a coach. There’s tons of people who are great at what they do and can help you keep accountable.
And just like Tom said in his interview, at first it is difficult, but then as you keep that habit into your daily life, it becomes easier and a no-brainer.
